Does anyone else love abandoned buildings as much as I do? Yeah, I can't deny they are a bit creepy and I am definitely not tempted to enter them like I did when I was younger. Yet they make an amazing backdrop for some pretty awesome portraits!
Phil found this old school; of course knowing my weird obsession he took me out to see it. I instantly fell in love with this location. I adored the peeling paint and rusted metal, but by far my favorite is when I see nature in these forgotten places flourish once again.
This being my first blog post, it's only fitting that it features the earliest friendship I can remember. Laurie and I have known each other for over 20 years now, which is hard to even wrap my head around! Laurie's wedding was the last big wedding I worked pre-pandemic. This has always been my "part-time" job, doing it here and there for family and friends. I was so pumped when I decided to go full-time and Laurie was one of the first people to ask for portraits.
Laurie has been spending her free time focusing on her nutrition and health. She recently placed 1st in her weight class in her latest powerlifting competition! She has been sharing a lot on her instagram about her progress along the way and passing on what she learns as she continues her journey. I wanted to capture her as she really is: a strong, caring and generous person who will always share her knowledge and experiences to all. Thank you Laurie!
